Ship Operations Manager

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of a fleet of dry bulk carriers.
• Coordinate vessel schedules, voyage planning, and port operations.
• Liaise with shipowners, charterers, brokers, port agents and other contractors to optimize vessel performance, minimize cost and downtime and achieve best financial result from the commercial exploitation of chartered fleet.
• Monitor vessel performance, fuel consumption, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Handle voyage instructions, cargo loading plans, freight and hire collection or payments, laytime calculation, bunker supply and execute other aspects of charter party agreements.
• Collaborate with other departments, including chartering, legal, and finance, to achieve company objectives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in maritime studies or shipping business.
• Proven experience in ship operations management, preferably in the dry bulk sector. Candidates without experience but with the relevant education can be also considered.
• Sailing experience as vessel’s Master or Chief officer (optional);
• Basic knowledge of legal principles of shipping business, port operations, and chartering practices;
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, including both verbal and written fluency in English;
• Analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems;
• Ability to work with large amount of information and self-learning skills;
• Proficiency in software applications, including MS Office;
• Willingness to work flexible hours.
